Food Allergy Awareness Week

May 11-17, 2008

1st Annual Children’s Art Contest

Tell the World About Food Allergies

More than 130,000 people in Utah suffer with a food allergy and more than half are school-aged children. Chances are good that someone in your classroom is allergic to one or more food allergens that are harmful or life-threatening.

To celebrate Food Allergy Awareness Week, May 11-17, the Utah Food Allergy Network (UFAN) is holding a Children’s Art Contest for grades Pre-6. The competition is open to all Utah schools, and teachers are encouraged to have their students participate. The theme for the competition is Tell the World About Food Allergies.

Children's Story Time

Tell the World About Food Allergies

Are you looking for ways to help raise awareness and educate your community or school about food allergies? The Utah Food Allergy Network (UFAN) would like to raise food allergy awareness and see more children’s books about food allergies in our local schools and libraries. One way you can help get involved during FAAW is by volunteering to do a children’s story time at your local library or talk to your child’s teacher about doing one in their classroom.
